About Me

My introductory post will tell you a lot about me. Here’s a short version:

I was born and raised as a Mennonite on a farm in Michigan. I found out that I was gay when I was about 9 or 10 years old, and simultaneously found out that my family and friends might shut me out if they knew. I managed to hide it from almost everyone until I graduated high school. I then “confessed” it to some of my close friends. In June this year (2011) I suddenly realized that I only believed being gay was wrong because of church tradition and the majority viewpoint. I did some research on ex-gay ministries, and read some gay theology and realized that God was speaking to me. The truth has set me free, and now I’m slowly coming out of the closet as a gay Mennonite man.

I live in Columbus, OH in a small Christian commune. I am working part time while attending grad school – I am becoming a librarian.

I like: Chinese Food, folk music, walking in the park, reading & libraries, frappes, hymns, intense discussions/debates, soccer, volleyball. I also watch a ton of TV.

I am an ENFJ = (Extrovert, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging), google it and you’ll find out way more about me than I put in this section. Unfortunately, I am also a very flexible personality, so personality tests have a hard time defining me (it might not be accurate).
